On Thursday, July 20, starting at 11:00 AM, in the RONDA hall of Grand Hotel Bucharest, the National Council of SMEs in Romania (CNIPMMR) organized the first of three promotional conferences within the "Energy-efficient SMEs" project.
The promotional conference had the following objectives:

Over 150 relevant stakeholders from the field of energy efficiency, SMEs, and representatives of central public authorities with competencies in this area participated in the conference. The event speakers were:

During the first conference on promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency, presentations were given on the importance of the project's objective, a series of best practice models were presented, and the main difficulties faced by entrepreneurs in trying to transition to renewable efficiency were selected. All these difficulties will form the basis for creating the guide "How to become an energy-efficient SME" that will address SMEs' needs.
The "Energy-efficient SMEs" project is implemented by CNIPMMR in partnership with SME Norway, a corresponding structure of CNIPMMR that aims to support and develop SMEs in Norway. The main objectives of the project are to increase awareness about the importance of energy efficiency and renewable energy by informing a considerable number of individuals and SME representatives, to increase knowledge about legislation and programs for SMEs in the energy sector, and to identify tools for calculating energy consumption and ways to minimize it within an SME.
"Energy-efficient SMEs" benefits from a grant of 190,508 euros from Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants. It is funded with the support of grants provided through the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021, within the "Energy Program in Romania".
